Richard Antoine White slept wherever he could as a child, sometimes in abandoned rowhouses where he was chewed on by rats as he slept. Today, he’s a tenured professor, the principal tubist of the New Mexico Philharmonic, and the first African American to receive a Doctorate in Music for Tuba Performance. This is Richard’s story.
